Job Description:

· Title: Floor Tile Layer

· NOC: 73113

· Position(s) Available: 3

· Work Location(s): 3314 30th Ave, Vernon, BC V1T 2C3 & varied construction sites

· Weekly Hours: 30-40

· Compensation: $27.5 per hour

Benefit:

· 10-day paid vacation per annum

Job Requirements:

· Completion of secondary school  is required

· Completion of a two year apprenticeship program or four years of related experience.

· Successful completion of the interprovincial Red Seal examination is an asset.

Job Responsibilities:

· Measure, cut and install tile floor;

· Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilizing tools;

· Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble and ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results;

· Measure, cut and install resilient floor covering using adhesive, rollers and other hand tools;

· Install hardwood floors, such as strip floors, block floors or plank floors, using glue, staples, nails or other means;

· Stretch carpeting using knee-kicker or power stretcher and secure carpeting to floor or other surfaces using staple gun or other devices;

· Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings;

· May estimate material and labour costs.
