Job Description:

-Title: Architectural Technologist

-NOC Code: 22210

-Position(s) Available: 1

-Work Location(s): 202, 2003 14 ST NW, Calgary, AB, T2M 1L9

-Weekly Hours: 30-40

-Compensation: $28-33 per hour

 

Benefit:

10 days paid vacation per annum

 

Job Requirements:

-Completion of at least a two-year college program in architectural technology or Interior

Design is usually required.

-Thorough knowledge of Canadian National/Provincial Building Codes, Municipal By-Laws, and zoning requirements.

-Extensive experience working with the National/Provincial Building Code and researching permit requirements with municipal, provincial, and federal jurisdictions.

-Two years of supervised work experience is required before certification.

-Minimum of 3 years of Canadian residential Design & drafting experience.

-Member of an accredited organization (ATO; ARIDO; NCIDQ; AAA; etc.) is an asset.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

-Work on residential projects of various stages, scales and complexity;

-Assist in the development of architectural designs and engage in design and drafting tasks with constructing architectural and displaying models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs;

-Prepare manual and proficiently using Revit, SketchUp, and AutoCAD for drafting projects;

-Prepare CAD (computer-assisted design) drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions;

-Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports;

-Prepare contract and bidding documents;

-Supervise and provide comprehensive drafting support throughout the design production process, encompassing tasks such as detailing permit applications, tender documents, and construction documentation;

-Supervise and assist in recruiting drafters, technicians and technologists on the architectural team;

-Thoroughly review Truss and Joist layouts for accuracy, incorporating necessary information into the plans;

-Prepare and submit architectural proposals for approval, promptly addressing any required modifications, and notifying Sales to ensure client awareness;

-Fulfill additional responsibilities as necessary.
